Cambridge English: Advanced gets recognition boost
29 November 2010
More than 2,500 organisations now recognise Cambridge English: Advanced, a high-level language qualification which has been specifically designed to test the English skills needed for demanding professional and academic situations.
Cambridge ESOL's Nicola Johnson says:
“Cambridge English: Advanced is a high level qualification and this massive boost in acceptance shows how seriously organisations around the world are taking English language ability. ”
The exam is set at Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, an internationally recognised benchmark of language ability. This is the recommended level for work at a managerial or professional level or to follow a course of academic study at university level. Nicola Johnson explains the benefits of this:
“Cambridge English: Advanced assesses real-life communications skills that individuals need to confidently deal with complicated academic and professional tasks in English. People who pass this test will be able to show employers and universities exactly what they can do in terms of English ability.”
Cambridge English: Advanced also known as Certificate in Advanced English (CAE).
