First Cambridge corporate day held in Frankfurt

24 February 2010

The challenges English teachers face in today’s globalised business world was top of the agenda at this weekend’s first Cambridge Corporate day in Frankfurt am Main on 20 February. Around 100 delegates from corporate training organisations, private language schools, universities and adult education colleges attended the event which was hosted by Cambridge ESOL. Delegates from as far away as the Netherlands and Czech Republic took part in the programme that included sessions such as “Preparing your students for the World of Work” or “Friend or Foe? New technologies and Business English”.

Manuela Richter, Marketing Officer for Cambridge ESOL in the region explained the importance of this event:
“In today’s global business environment, it’s essential that the future workforce have the right language skills in place for effective communication. By bringing together English trainers who help to prepare students for the business world, we were able to take a step forward in identifying and addressing some of the challenges ahead.”

The event included a varied programme with nine separate workshops facilitated by a range of experts from the assessment and publishing world.
