First Cambridge Young Learners English Competition held in China a huge success
09 November 2010
Thirty-six talented young English students aged between 6 and 13 have been announced as winners of Chinas first Cambridge Young Learners English Competition, held in Beijing last month.
The final of the competition jointly organised by The Sino-British Exchange Centre in Educational Measurement (SBC) and Cambridge ESOL took place between 3 and 5 October at Beijing Royal School.
10,000 participants took part in the competition over the last five months and 100 made it to the final. Duncan Rayner, Regional Manager, Asia at Cambridge ESOL says the winners showed "exceptional talent" and the event has helped to raise awareness amongst children and their parents of the benefits of learning English at a young age.
