9 August 2011
The University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) is offering grant funding of up to £45,000 for small, medium and large scale language assessment research projects in 2012.
Research proposals are being invited from educational institutions and qualified researchers on topics related to selected Cambridge ESOL examinations and qualifications. This year’s areas of interest are test validation, contexts of test use, test impact and learning-oriented assessment. They can be related to a range of Cambridge English assessments including general and academic English, exams for schools, professional English and teaching qualifications.
Cambridge ESOL's Dr Fiona Barker said:
“This funded programme is part of our ongoing commitment to research into language assessment and plays a key role in measuring the the impact of our tests and teaching qualifications on individuals and society. In this third round of funded research we are encouraging proposals on a wide range of topics that will help us to ensure that our tests are fair, fit for purpose and have positive impact around the world.”
The deadline for submission of proposals is 1 October 2011.
