International House World boost for BULATS
04 March 2011
The University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) has teamed up with International House World Organisation (IHWO) in an initiative which will result in IH students and clients having better access to the BULATS exam and increase the number of schools around the globe that offer the popular test. The new agreement, which was recently signed in London, will see International House schools offering the business language skills test to existing and new students in almost all of the countries the group operates in.
“We're really pleased to be working with IH as we both share the same commitment of improving language skills globally,” said Cambridge ESOL's Lee Knapp. "As business becomes more globalised, so does the need for employees who can cope with the linguistic demands of the modern workplace. This is where having BULATS on your CV is a real advantage and now even more people can benefit from this.”
The BULATS test has been designed to test the real-life communications skills needed to survive in business. It is available in English, French, German and Spanish and assesses language skills to internationally recognised standards.
The International House World Organisation (IHWO) is a network of 150 language schools worldwide committed to implementing high standards of quality and innovation in education and training. Speaking at the signing ceremony at the IH World Director of Studies Conference in London, Lucy Horsefield, Chief Operating Officer of IHWO said:
“The high value language teaching services offered by IH schools are perfectly complemented by this useful and widely recognised assessment tool. This agreement is another milestone in our longstanding and valued relationship with Cambridge ESOL.”
