Teacher Support Programme 2010

Cambridge ESOL promueve anualmente el Teacher Support Programme, que ofrece seminarios para docentes de inglés en diversas ciudades de Argentina.

Cambridge ESOL está comprometido con los docentes de inglés ofreciéndoles apoyo en su labor académica. Si le interesa prepararse para presentarse a alguno de nuestros exámenes o se encuentra preparando alumnos para este fin, el Teacher Support Programme le proporcionará ayuda, información y materiales útiles.

Los seminarios son conducidos por profesionales altamente capacitados y experimentados en esta área seleccionados cuidadosamente por Cambridge ESOL.

Los objetivos de los seminarios son:

• Familiarizar a los docentes con los contenidos de los exámenes, y los materiales de apoyo de Cambridge ESOL.

• Describir el nivel de los exámenes y lo que se espera de los candidatos.

• Orientar a los docentes en la preparación de los candidatos, incluyendo actividades prácticas para el salón de clases.

• Apoyar a los maestros en su preparación para el examen TKT.

Todos los seminarios son gratuitos pero los espacios son limitados, por lo que se recomienda reservar su lugar con anticipación.

Llevar a cabo estos seminarios es costoso. Sin embargo, gracias al apoyo de las siguientes organizaciones en Argentina, podemos ofrecerle la oportunidad de asistir a los seminarios de forma gratuita

Buenos Aires, 17 March - PET: Computer-based testing - The same exam, the same Cambridge Certificate

Though PET is now a “classic” among schools in Argentina, computer based assessment for this exam is not.
There are a number of benefits to computer-based testing:
• More exam dates.
• Faster access to results, with scores available to be seen online just three weeks after the test.
• Many students are more comfortable completing a test with a keyboard and mouse rather than paper and pen.
• Test takers can edit their answers on screen during the exam.
• The use of headphones for the listening elements of tests means that they can adjust the volume to suit their needs.
• Online timer and help functions allow candidates to get the best from their exam performance.
This seminar is aimed at presenting this new assessment method for PET.

Paraná, 19 March - Exam Tips for FCE

Coaching for FCE, undoubtedly, poses a challenge. Every year, a new group of students coming to our class means rethinking and reshaping our lessons. Teachers are expected to meet their learning needs , and creating a solid basis for their success. Tips for FCE Workshop aims to aid teachers in this enterprise.

We will:
• concentrate on the skills required in all FCE papers
• look to the focuses of certain parts of the exam
• work together with some classroom activities and ideas to help students in developing the required skills and strategies to answer the different questions

Neuquén, 27 March - Successful lesson planning with YLE - Listening & Speaking

This seminar focuses on developing successful lesson plans for teaching English in schools with YLE. The presenter will demonstrate how to incorporate content from Cambridge ESOL exam syllabus into your Speaking and Listening lesson plan. In addition to this, the presenter will share ideas for evaluating and sharing your lesson plans and will show resources that will motivate learners.

This seminar is recommended to school coordinators and teachers who are new to the YLE tests, or would like to know more about them
