Cambridge English Teachers’ Competition 2012

Are you an English language teacher who has good practical ideas on how to prepare candidates for exams?

By submitting your top tips for exam preparation for the Cambridge English Teachers’ Competition you have the chance to win an all expenses paid trip to Cambridge with a place on a two-week residential teacher development course offered by Bell.

Four prizes are being offered and for your chance to win, submit an idea for one of the following examinations:

How to Enter

  • Read the competition terms and conditions
  • Think of one practical exam preparation idea for any one of the exams listed above. The idea must focus on one of the skills in the exams; Reading, Writing, Listening or Speaking.
  • Submit your idea in no more than 300 words, by filling in and submitting an online entry form
    (You will be asked to fill in your contact details, which exam you are submitting your idea for and the BELL course you want to attend if you win).

Submission Dates

The competition will open on the 18 January 2012 and you must submit your entry by midnight GMT, 16 April 2012.

First Prizes
There will be four winners chosen who will win a place on a teacher development course provided by Bell.

Each winner will receive a place on a two-week residential teacher development course at Bell Teacher Campus based at Homerton College, part of the University of Cambridge.

When submitting your entry, select from one of the three courses offered by BELL running from 1 – 14 July 2012.

Course dates
Winners must be available to attend the course which takes place from 1 - 14 July 2012 at Homerton College in Cambridge, UK:

The top four prizes also include:

  • Economy class flights to and from the UK
  • Airport transfers within the UK
  • Accommodation in a Cambridge College
  • Daily breakfast and weekday evening meals (excluding lunch, any social programmes or other optional activities)
  • Meal allowance allocation.

Benefits
In 2011 over 825 teachers from 54 countries came together on Bell courses in Cambridge to share their experience as teachers of English. They all benefited from top-quality teaching, practical ideas and the opportunity to learn from each other.
