IDLTM (International Diploma in Language Teaching Management)

IDLTM is a qualification that can help language teaching professionals apply insights and skills derived from management theory and practice to their work as language teaching managers.
Overview
IDLTM is a 325-hour course. Typically, there is an initial 2-week full-time face-to-face component, with the remainder of the course taught in flexible delivery mode over a 6-month period and concluding with an online capstone.

One assignment is set for each unit except the introductory unit. Assignment lengths vary from 1,000–3,000 words and assignment types also differ, depending on the nature of the unit.

Recognised worldwide
If you successfully complete IDLTM, you can opt to take your studies further. If you study at The University of Queensland’s Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ), you will be eligible for credit of four units (two courses) towards the Master of Education (Leadership), offered by the University of Queensland's Graduate School of Education. If you take IDLTM at SIT (School for International Training), you can choose to earn seven graduate credits for the Masters course through SIT.
As an IDLTM graduate, you can also make an application to any college or university for recognition of the hours spent undertaking the course and commensurate academic credit.

If you are an experienced English language teacher, ideally with experience in management or co-ordination in a business or educational environment, your experience and knowledge of the English language teaching profession makes you a valuable asset. IDLTM can help better prepare you for a career in language centre management.

A global partnership
IDLTM is awarded as a global partnership between Cambridge ESOL, SIT and the Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education, the University of Queensland (ICTE-UQ).
Eligibility
- Do you have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent?
- Do you have a minimum of three years' language teaching experience (full time in state or private sector, internationally or in one country) or five years' working experience in a language teaching context?
- Is your written and spoken English good enough for you to follow the course and complete all the assessed elements successfully?
