If you want to live in an English-speaking country, being able to use the language well will open doors for you in terms of employment opportunities, and the practical and social aspects of living and working in a new country.
Also, the immigration services of some countries either require applicants to prove they have a specified level of ability with English, or will take your language skills into account in other ways when considering applications.
Some countries such as Canada and Australia recognise our IELTS test report as proof of ability. This allows you to prepare for, and take the test before your application is made.
