ILEC, set at levels B2 and C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, is an examination which assesses English language skills in a legal context. It is equivalent in level to the First Certificate in English (FCE) and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE).
Successful ILEC candidates will be able to use English in practical situations, participate in meetings and discussions of a legal nature, clearly express opinions and understand and produce various texts including legal letters, proposals and memos.
ILEC is recognised by leading associations of lawyers including the European Company Lawyers Association, the European Law Students Association and the International Association of Young Lawyers.
