To assess students’ understanding of the DOs and DONTs of the Writing exam

Materials needed:

Worksheet

  1. Put students in pairs and hand out the list of DOs and DONTs and one copy of the worksheet between pairs.
  2. Students must do the True/False activity by referring to the list of DOs and DONTs.
  3. Feedback as a group, discussing why statements were true or false.
  4. It is useful to use the True/False activity as a warmer for a later lesson in order to revise the main points.
