Task Types

There are three tasks for each paper but there is not a set text-type for each task. Text-types are drawn from the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum and can include, for example, forms, questionnaires, descriptions, accounts, emails, letters, narratives, instructions, reports, explanations, proposals, articles, leaflets and information sheets. Candidates are expected to be aware of these formats.

At Levels 1 + 2, reports are expected to be longer and more detailed and there are some text-types which have not been assessed at lower levels: proposals, articles, leaflets and information sheets.
