    Question 13 (a basis + for) and Question 14 (concerned + with). Prepositional phrases and dependent prepositions are important areas for students to practise for this part of the paper.

  5. Which questions in the second and third paragraphs test linkers?
    Questions 22 and 23. Note that more than one answer is possible in 22 and 23, as reflected in the answer key.

  6. Do all the questions test at word or phrase level?
    No. For example, Question 17 requires an understanding of the structure of the whole sentence.
