Task Description
What do candidates have to do?
Complete a text by choosing the correct sentence (A-H) to fill each of six gaps
What texts are used?
Texts with a strong development or argument are used for this task, and may be taken from reference books and financial textbooks, financial newspapers and journals, financial websites, company annual reports, and research reports.
What is being tested?
Candidates have to demonstrate an awareness of text structure, as well as understanding content.
What specific reading skills are relevant?
Following an argument; recognising discourse markers in text
