Cut the Options

Aim:

To develop students’ ability and confidence in completing Part 1 tasks

Students working individually

Materials needed:

1 copy per person of the worksheet or any gap-fill text from a past ICFE Part 1 task.

  1. Select a past ICFE Part 1 gap-fill text.

  2. Reduce the number of options from four to two by underlining / highlighting them, i.e. choose the correct option and one distractor.

  3. Ask the students to do the task alone.

  4. Check the answers.
