The questions focus on concrete facts given in the listening text such as places, prices or times.

  2. Do the answers have to be complete sentences?
No. Candidates are unlikely to be able to write a complete sentence within the specified word limit, and should not try to do so.

In this case, three words and/or a number. (This number may vary from task to task – always check the instructions.) If candidates write more than the stated limit, they will not get a mark.

Yes, often answers are just one word or one number – e.g. four of the questions in this task can be answered using just one word and/or a number.

  6. Where the answer is a sum of money, is it necessary to write the currency symbol? (e.g. £/$)
If it is not already on the Question Paper, the currency symbol should also be copied onto the Answer Sheet. (However, if the currency symbol is already printed on the Question Paper, then you should not transfer it to the Answer Sheet.)
