Advice for Teachers to Give Students
Before the Exam
Candidates should:
PRACTISE listening to English as much as they can.
LOOK through past papers to become familiar with each part.
REVISE their knowledge of the English alphabet and numbers.
CHECK their understanding of how the answer sheet works.
Candidates shouldn't:
WORRY about the listening test, as it covers familiar topics
and language.
In the Exam
Candidates should:
READ the instructions for each part carefully.
LOOK through the questions in the pause before a part begins.
FOLLOW the example question at the beginning of the recording.
MARK or WRITE their answers on the question paper as they
listen.
CHECK their answers at the second listening.
TRANSFER their answers only at the end of the test.
Candidates shouldn't:
WORRY if they miss some of the answers at the first listening.
LEAVE any answers blank (as a guess may be correct).
CHANGE their answers when they transfer them to the answer
sheet.
USE a pen on the answer sheet. They must use a pencil.
