KET Listening Part 5

KET Listening Part 4 Tips for Teachers

  • Use the example to explain how the task works.

  • Reassure students that they don't need to spell all the words correctly.

  • Revise numbers in English.

  • Revise the letters of the alphabet, focusing in particular on any letters that students confuse, for example b/v, m/n, i/j, v/w. Include practice in words with double letters, e.g. 'yellow: Y-E-double L-O-W'.

  • Devise simple dictation tasks, to include the spelling out of proper names.

  • Give students a lot of practice in making brief notes from recordings.

  • Tell students how to complete the answer sheets for Parts 4 and 5.
