Materials needed:
video
Put a list of correction techniques on the board and check that the trainees know what each means.
Watch a video clip showing a teacher correcting students in various ways (including ignoring their mistakes) and ask the trainees to identify what correction techniques are used at each stage.
Watch the video again and discuss why the teacher has used a particular technique rather than others for 4 or 5 of the students’ mistakes.
Get the trainees into groups and ask them to discuss the uses, advantages and disadvantages of 4 or 5 of the techniques.
Class report back → board summary of points made.
