Flyers Speaking — Tips for Teachers
- Practise asking questions in class so the students are confident
with them.
- Insist on phrases like 'Hello', 'How are you?' and 'Goodbye'
and other classroom language in English.
- Teach your students how to ask for repetition if they do not
understand something, and make them use it!
- Train them to listen carefully to instructions.
- Encourage them to speak as much as they can in the test and
not worry about mistakes.
- Train them to use full sentences when they describe something.
- Give them practice speaking to other adults (apart from you!)
in English.
