First Cambridge ESOL for Work tests

20 December 2007

Westminster Kingsway College, London www.westking.ac.uk, is the first centre to run the new computer-based Cambridge ESOL for Work qualifications. These tests, developed very rapidly in response to a UK government initiative, are designed for people who need to use English to work in the UK.

Feedback on the new tests has been very positive. Gillian Rodrigues, Head of Division, Languages and Teacher Training at Westminster Kingsway says "I’m really convinced that the ESOL for Work qualification is spot on for many of our learners and, as I have said before, you really seem to have produced a series of assessments which are motivating, easy to administer and enjoyable for learners ..."

Centres throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be rolling out these new tests during the early part of 2008.

Cambridge ESOL is the only awarding body to have computer-based ESOL for work qualifications accredited by the UK government's regulatory bodies for examinations.
