Spanish university to offer Cambridge English test to staff and students
22 June 2009
Cambridge ESOL is pleased to announce that the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) will now begin offering its students and teaching staff their First Certificate in English (FCE) as part of their ongoing development.
FCE is aimed at those who can use everyday written and spoken English at an upper-intermediate level and want to use English for work or study purposes. It is set at Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) - an internationally recognised benchmark of language ability.
The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is the only public Spanish university that has all of its undergraduate degree programmes adapted to the new European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and is distinguished for its first-class teaching and international orientation. In the academic year 2007-2008, over 700 students enrolled in the Universidad Carlos III went abroad with an Erasmus scholarship and 18 bilingual degrees are now being offered.
