ALTE 3rd International Conference Cambridge 2008 logoThe call for papers for the 3rd International Conference of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) has attracted an unprecedented international response.

More than 200 proposals were received from over 53 countries and regions. The papers represent 189 organisations and five different languages. From these 200 proposals, around 100 will be chosen to be presented as elective papers in the conference programme. Details can be found at www.alte.org/2008

Forum on Language Testing

The conference will also include a Forum on Language Testing, Migration and Social Inclusion, which will be hosted by ALTE in its role as an International Non-Government Organisation of the Council of Europe. This will be an essential contribution to the Intercultural Dialogue strand of the conference.

The forum will focus on the work of European bodies, including the European Union and the Council of Europe in relation to the integration and social inclusion of migrants. The forum will feature a presentation exploring Council of Europe policy by Joseph Sheils, Head of Language and Policy Division at the Council of Europe.
