Cambridge certificates
Cambridge ESOL’s office in France has made a breakthrough with the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), the prestigious authority which regulates engineering schools.
The CTI requires its members, some of the most famous institutions in France, to certify its students in English at the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
CTI, in its information for schools, now includes Cambridge ESOL exams at this level as proof of having achieved Level B2.
First Certificate in English (FCE) and the Business English Certificate (BEC) are mentioned, as well as the Business Language Testing Service (BULATS)
and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Anthony Harvey, Cambridge ESOL’s Country Manager in France, said the change would lead to more schools adopting Cambridge ESOL exams and
tests and enable French engineering students to obtain valuable international certification in English alongside their French engineering qualification.
