Cambridge Assessment Network

Cambridge Assessment Network screenshotCambridge ESOL’s world-leading programme of research and validation activities are at the heart of all of our activities and are made widely available through our website, regular publications such as Research Notes (issues 24 and 25 now available online: www.CambridgeESOL.org/rs_notes) and the series Studies in Language Testing and at conferences throughout the world.

Readers who would like to know more about the wider issues involved in educational assessment may be interested in a new initiative launched by the Cambridge Assessment Group. The Cambridge Assessment Network has been set up for professionals in assessment to share and develop knowledge and expertise – a centre of excellence in assessment. Its aim is to build an international community committed to high quality assessment that enhances learning. The Network offers formal and informal professional development activities for those working in assessment, including:

  • AssessNet, to facilitate online discussion and idea sharing on assessment topics and to host online courses on assessment
  • a certificated course in assessment, accredited by the University of Cambridge
  • conferences, seminars and workshops on current assessment topics
  • a wide range of networking opportunities.

Cambridge AssessmentAlthough the focus of the Network is not on the issues of language assessment that are covered by Cambridge ESOL’s research and validation programme, it provides complementary insights into issues of educational assessment.
